The sites we visited and the progression of each site visited was beyond expectation. The tour guides for each site made the history come alive.
As a wheelchair user, I was unsure I was going to be able to participate in this tour. Beaches of Normandy tours was very accommodating and helpful to me on this tour. While some places were inaccessible, Ben our tour leader made sure to tell me about these places and show relevant photos so I did not miss out. I would recommend this tour and company without hesitation to anyone who has a desire to learn and see important historical sites.

The breakfasts and dinners were very good in all of the hotels... some better than others...but all good!
The sights and events were above and beyond what we expected.... It was put together very well and thorough and the people we spoke to along the way, that lived and the land they were on was affected by WW11 was so touching and interesting
I am a Travel Consultant and had booked clients years ago with Band of Brothers...Beaches of Normandy was everything we expected and much more...Would definitely recommend to any one that would be interested in this type of touring My husbands Father fought on this WW11tour and and was in Anzio, Cassino, Messina...this is primarily why we came on this tour.
It was a pleasure mostly speaking to Dena and Beta prior to and during the booking process of our April 30 Italian Campaign Tour. Also spoke to Lela a few times. They were all friendly and efficient and very helpful with all my needs during this time

The restaurant, I can't remember the name of it, the one that had the 2 pork chops was the least of my favorite. Too much meat and not enough of the sides. The dessert was supposed to be tiramisu. I have had tiramisu in Italy. What we had at that restaurant was not it. I do know that Ben really liked it.
Everything and more than I had expected.
I definitely six stars out of five, if I could be so bold. I have already recommended the company to a number of my friends and relatives. Up the good work, and hang on to Ben, Christophe and Janos.
Definitely continue working on the WW I tour.

In our opinion, the breakfasts and dinners at each hotel were above average in both quality and quantity! At each hotel, both breakfast and dinner had variety, as well as good service. We had two very outstanding dinners (again in our opinion) - the ravioli dinner in Paestum (previously mentioned) and the food court extravaganza our first night in Rome!! Both were super! We also would like to give a "shout out" to our tour director (Camille) for the help she provided for our lunches. Each day, she provided us with some recommended options to choose from in the vicinity of where we were at lunchtime. They proved to be very good choices and helped us greatly.
We thought this tour was an excellent blend of WWII action and sights, coupled with the many and varied sights and sounds of the magnificent country of Italy. Each day was well planned and organized in order to meet the stated objectives. Our tour director and local guides did a very good job of helping to make our daily activities very interesting, educational and exciting. A job very well done!! We will take this opportunity to make one suggestion about the Italian Campaign Tour. On the day we traveled from Cassino to Nettuno/Anzio, we stopped in the morning at Piana Delle Orme Museum. It was a fantastic museum consisting of 20+ pavilions of Italian history. The tour guide brochure provided at the museum recommends a five-hour visit. Our group was there for less than five hours and during our time there, in our opinion, we spent too much time in the agricultural pavilions, which forced us to rush through the six war related pavilions. As such, we recommend extending the visit to five hours, so that more time can be spent in the war pavilions. If spending that much time at the museum is not feasible on that day of the tour, then we believe less time should be spent going through the agricultural area, allowing more time for viewing the war activities exhibits. The agriculture pavilions were interesting; however, we feel that the section pertaining to the war activities is more in line with the scope of our tour. Once again, it is a great museum that was a welcome part of our tour and contains a tremendous amount of wartime and other information.
As mentioned earlier, we believe the Italian Campaign Tour was a super combination of WWII action and sights, coupled with the many and varied sights and sounds of Sicily and Italy. We will definitely recommend this tour to others.
We used a third-party travel agent to book our tour, so we had limited exposure to the Beaches of Normandy Tours Travel Consultant - I only had one call to Betty for one question and she was very helpful. Our travel agent did speak very highly of the timely help she received from them, as well, especially when she was trying to learn where the tour group would be staying in Catania so that she could book us an advance night, since we were arriving a day early in Sicily before the tour started.
Two suggestions for other possible tours are - (1) Extending the Italian Campaign Tour a few days or starting a new shorter tour that covers WWII military action from Rome north to the Gothic Line. This was Germany's last major line of defense in the northern part of the Apennine Mountains in late 1944 - early 1945. Heavily involved in this action was the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division, which had trained for arctic type winter warfare at Camp Hale in Colorado (USA) before being deployed to Italy. (2) A Vietnam War Tour stretching from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in the south to Hanoi in the north. Thank you!

All food was good. Portions were a bit to large for the late hour we were eating them. Dinner could be earlier. Hard to eat a big meal and then go lay down and try to sleep on a full stomach. I know it is hard to have dinner earlier, maybe cut something shorter so the group could get back a bit earlier.
Beaches of Normandy Tours did a great job of showing us all the region had. Also explaining to us all the aspects of the region and what it all meant in the bigger picture. The tour was safe and secure for all.
It was everything that was described in the info presented. We enjoyed very much. People we traveled with were very friendly and open to many enjoyable conversations.

Food was quite good. I recommend you replace the restaurant we attended for dinner in Bayeux - poorly seasoned food and not up to standard. Service one night in Melba Hotel was poor (staffing?).
Beaches of Normandy is a company that delivers a superior tour at a reasonable cost. Their tour director (Ben) was excellent. They communicate very well and know how to run a tour that has no surprises (financial or otherwise) and delivers more even than one expects. I highly recommend the Beaches of Normandy tour!
Communication was excellent and their were no surprises. Everything happened on schedule.

Breathtaking. Picturing the struggle our soldiers experienced brought the history of WW2 to life. Adding the cultural context enriched the experience and provided an appreciation of the local point of view.

I enjoyed all of the meals and everyone was really accommodating to my dietary needs and went above and beyond. My favorite meal was the Mexican dinner at Hotel Melba!
It's had to determine free time vs. programming. I think the only thing that I would change is the afternoon in Luxembourg. While it is a gorgeous city, I don't think that and the stop at the museum is needed. Perhaps you could just make the trip to Munich a longer day and stop at the Luxembourg museum with Patton.
Beaches of Normandy was the first tour I have ever taken and it vastly exceeded my expectations. Be ready to learn SO much and see so many great sites and museums. This tour really takes care of you as well, you don't have to worry about anything! I enjoyed getting to know my other tour guests as well, I was sad to tell everyone goodbye. I am so happy I got to do this tour with my dad and brother. It was truly a trip of a lifetime.

When other groups were also booked at the hotel, the staff could not keep up with replenishing the breakfast food. At times it seemed like every man for himself situation. As for the dinners, some were not that appetizing (this is coming from someone who isn't a picky eater).
This tour exceeded our expectations of what we saw and learned about.
This tour of the Normandy Beaches exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Milan was excellent. But the real bonus was having Christophe, who spent decades interviewing survivors from the Allied military, the German military, and the towns people, interjecting real life stories into what we were seeing made the events of D-Day and the days that followed just simply come to life. Anyone interested in history would love this tour. My wife and I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Normandy Beaches and what really happened there.
The only negative was the food at the hotel. Then again we were not there for the food.

Totally awesome! Each hotel's breakfast buffet was fantastic and the dinners were very well done and top shelf.
This definitely deserves five stars. Anyone travelling on their own would never have seen some of the things we saw. Again, congrats to Camille.
This tour was outstanding!! Previously, about 4 or 5 years ago, I took the Normandy tour with Beyond Band of Brothers Tours and I thought it was great; this tour matched that experience. We saw many things that I had always wanted to see and some things I never even thought about seeing. The details and tour schedules were well planned, thanks to Camille. She is an outstanding tour director who made sure everything was covered. Her assistant on this tour, Rey, was also very knowledgeable and proficient. Both ladies did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend Beaches of Normandy for any tour; they are are great company with excellent staff.
I was very satisfied with all aspects of the booking process. I called once for info, before booking, and the lady was extremely nice and answered my questions fully.

With our tour director Rey nothing was overlooked and attention to detail was impeccable. Rey's knowledge and personal stories made it more captivating for fellow passengers. The side trips were an unexpected pleasure that gave it a personal touch to those of us who's relatives had been in the locations during the war. My family was very appreciative for being able to stop at the Charlie Shay Memorial who is a cousin. It is located in the dunes near Omaha Beach in Saint Laurent sur-Mer. He was an Army medic on the first wave of the Normandy invasion. The statue represents the 175 Native Americans who landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day. He is a Penobscot Indian who is 98 years old and attends the D-Day anniversary ceremonies every year. Your willingness in sharing your wealth of information as a tour director and narrator demonstrates your exquisite ability as a professional. The tour guides were very good and well informed of the history and facts that they talked about. Hotels were first class, museums were top notch and the food was culturally very good. Our well behaved group was impressed by what they saw and enjoyed it very much. The tour was more than I could have conceived along with all the information and the splenders and beauty of the countryside. With the air being clear and crisp on top of the Eagles Nest in the Bavarian Alps it was a spectacular view gazing at the snow capped mountains on one side and the valleys over a mile below. The trip was top notch and an excellent value for what you got to see and do. I would highly recommend it to anyone to take the 11 day Band Of Brothers Tour. Thank you, RICK Wojtowicz

We were most impressed by the tour from the moment that we met our Tour Director, Rey. The bus travel was quite comfortable for the entire journey. Each hotel had its own unique qualities, and upon reflection, I would most happily stay at each of the hotels again. As for the tour guides, Christophe was above and beyond the typical tour guide, so kind and knowledgeable ... a veritable walking encyclopedia for WWII in France. And I believe the tour guide in Munich was Steven (I hope that I recall his name correctly), and he, too, was equally versed in WWII and Hitler in Germany. And while Rey's primary role was the Tour Director, she was extremely well versed in WWII and provided such wonderfully informative information between stops and on the road to prepare us for what was coming next. She was extremely knowledgeable. The stops on the tour were outstanding, and we gained so much knowledge each day! And I have to acknowledge Akos, our wonderful driver. He was so kind, helpful, safe, and knowledgeable. We always felt that we were in good hands with Akos. In discussing thoughts with others on the tour, while we all wanted to see as much as possible, I believe that there was a desire to have a little more personal time to enjoy a swim, a workout, and a little more time to stroll some of the towns to enjoy the local scenery without feeling rushed. I believe that the Beaches of Normandy did a wonderful job to maximize every opportunity for the guests, but perhaps a little more free time, particularly nearing the end of the day before dinner could be nice. Breakfast was delightful at each hotel, and the Beaches of Normandy did a wonderful job in planning for meals for the group ... not an easy task. It's nearly impossible, however, to know what to order for those who have dietary requests, particularly, as there are pescetarians, vegetarians, vegans, etc., and not to mention, derivations in each of these. While I had talked with Beaches of Normandy prior to the trip and said we most definitely eat fish and wanted protein, we initially found that the meals were planned vegetarian without fish, and little to no protein. We immediately spoke with Rey, and she got right on it and talked with each restaurant to make accommodations, and everyone was wonderful, and we had delightful fish and seafood throughout our stay. Again, after talking with our passengers, we think that it would be nice to offer an option that does NOT include the dinner supplement, and allow each passenger to order the dinner that most suits there dietary needs. After all, experiencing the food when you are traveling is part of the adventure! Even if it ended up costing a little more for the passenger, I believe that the passengers would enjoy the option, and it would certainly remove on the spot stress from the Tour Director. When we ordered from the menu, my son and I could not have been happier, as the food was delightful at every location! The establishments seemed more than happy to accommodate. Overall, I would without a doubt recommend this tour to my friends and acquaintances. Truly, the Band of Brothers Tour is a WWII history buff's nirvana! And our traveling companions will become lifelong friends. Such a special group of people brought together by their love of history and the sacrifices made by so many. My son and I are very much looking forward to the Third Reich tour being planned for 2024! Let us know when it is available! Five stars to the Beaches of Normandy's for your inaugural year!!

I enjoyed myself immensely, more than perhaps I thought I would. Very thorough & intense, but fun historical (as well as cultural) tour, lived up to its' promises. Especially enjoyed our guide & driver (Rey & Akol), they made huge effort to ensure everyone was properly accommodated and comfortable on the tour; they really wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time (we were) and fit right in with our group. Food was great, hotels were all very nice (though the Bastogne hotel had no a/c and it was unusually hot while we were there). It was great to ride on a 45 seat bus with only 16 people on board, made it easy to spread out and have good views as we travelled. While the primary emphasis was on WW2, I very much enjoyed seeing the 11th century churches and renaissance style buildings, the countryside with its farms & villages, shopping & eating in the places we visited and interacting with a lot of friendly folks. This was my first visit to Europe and after this trip, I hope to return to see more! Kudos to BoN for a nicely packaged tour, I have already recommended it to several friends & acquaintances. Finally, additional kudos to BoN for having Jack Appel, our 98 yr young Normandy veteran along for the tour, he made it very special! It was wonderful to see folks interacting with him at all the stops and we all enjoyed his recollections during his time in Europe during the war. He tells a pretty good joke, too!

Excellent tour, local guides beyond amazing, Rey kept it going forward smoothly. Part of the fun was being on our own for lunches and dinners and not always finding English speaking waiters…meals could be interesting! Laying the wreath at the American cemetery was special. I highly recommend this tour.

I recently returned from the 9-day Beaches of Normandy tour and I have to say I was thoroughly delighted with every aspect. The tour exceeded my expectations. Our Tour Director “Rey” was extremely knowledgeable and took time to get to know each person in our group. She was a delight and always kept the group engaged. Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention our very courteous driver, Akos, who did an excellent job throughout considering narrow roads and long expanses. With each stop a guide who specialized in the area lead the group and presented facts that even the most seasoned WWII buff would find interesting. The guides were always welcoming and encouraging questions. In one instance the guide did not have the answer to my question and later that day emailed me the information I was interested in. This is a level of service and commitment that goes above and beyond. There was always sufficient free time to wander the quaint villages, sample food, drink and get a flavor for the country and its people. The hotels were very good with clean, quiet, and private rooms. The hotel staffs were courteous and always welcomed us with a smile and greeting. Breakfast each morning was typically European with a wide variety to choose from and more than sufficient supply. If you have a WWII tour on your bucket list, I encourage you to do it and do so with this firm. You will not regret it.

This was an extremely well run tour and the local guides were exceptionally knowledgeable, particularly Christophe at Normandy; he was AMAZING! The weakest of the guides was the one at the Belgium US Cemetery where General Patton is buried. While it is impossible to know everything about these places I would have expected him to know the legend and interpretation of the the key large maps displayed on the stone monuments of the cemetery.

This was our family's first time as part of a tour group, and we may never go back to touring by ourselves again! Rey and Charlie were amazing, as were the local tour guides, especially Christophe. Their depth of knowledge of the areas visited brought the whole experience to life in a way we would never have been able to experience if we did it on our own. Everything was just great!

It is a high quality tour, well done. If you are interested in a tour that gives you a very clear picture of the movement of the Allied armies from Normandy to Bavaria. this is the one. I returned a few days ago from the 11 day tour. Keep in mind that you could spend a couple months trying to see everything of significance, but this tour will take you just about everywhere you really need to see. And the local guides range from very good to absolutely excellent. The hotels exceeded my expectations. The variety of foods served at dinners was excellent. The people running the company and tour were at all times very helpful. It is a high quality tour and I really couldn't ask for anything more.

I recently returned from the 11 day tour of the Beaches of Normandy with Robert as our Tour Director. The tour that was well planned out and by far exceeded my expectations. It was the type of tour I have thought about doing for many years and very happy I chose this tour with this company. It was a Five Star experience from the start! Hotels, meals, daily adventures from Normandy,Pointe du Hoc, the Beaches, Bastogne, Munich, Luxenbourg, Dachau, and Eagles Nest, and the American Cemeteries, were very well planned and presented. As a veteran, the American Cemeteries and Dachau were very moving and emotional to experience and I'm sure everyone in our group felt the same, Attention to detail was first class from my first contact with Dana, Janos, our driver, local guides along the way and of course Robert our Tour Director, who made everyone in our group feel like they were the most important person there, attending to their every need! When the brochure said he was availabe 24/7 he was always there 24/7.I highly recommend the Beaches of Normandy tours if you want a first class experience. A phenominal tour of a lifetime and I'm considering going back for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day!

This tour amazed me with its in-depth lessons in WW II events and explanations of eventual allied victory. Our tour guide Rey was not only exceptionally well-informed, but also extremely congenial, energetic, helpful, and respectful of her clients' individual differences and needs. I quickly learned to trust our driver and his skill in navigating tight turns and narrow lanes--and also in offering historical information when asked. The expertise of the on-site experts surprised and impressed me; each one of them (in Normandy, Bastogne, and Dachau) corrected common misconceptions, fielded questions, and revealed details and/or perspectives completely new to me. Although my main interests lie with the sites we viewed and the history we learned, the hotel accommodations and food exceeded my expectations, as did our wonderfully diverse group of 14 history buffs. I cannot praise this Band of Brothers tour enough, and am seriously thinking of signing up for another in the very near future.

I have never signed up for a tour, being a do-it-myself with travel type of person. I am thrilled that I took this opportunity with my husband and our nephew (just graduated Highschool). Our Tour Director, Rey, was outstanding--attentive, caring, organized and so approachable. She and the company organized excellent specialist guides to share stories that helped us better understand the space we were standing in. We were moved around Europe with ease and professionalism, and given plenty of free time to enjoy the towns and our evenings. The communication before and during the trip was timely, and accurate. We did not miss a beat on the day adventures and the information, accommodations, and education far exceeded my expectations. I give this tour the highest recommendation!!

This tour made a huge impression on me and my son. The historical sites are awe-inspiring and the local guides are knowledgable, approachable, and friendly. Our Beaches of Normandy Tour Director, Rey, was extremely organized. We did not have to worry about any of the logistics the whole trip. Rey went out of her way to make sure every single passenger on the tour was comfortable as well as informed. I just completed the 9 day tour. My name is Dee Summer- Estrada. I wanted you to know that the trip was absolutely perfect to every detail. Our beautiful Tour Director Rey is so organized and talented. She is exceptionally gifted at her job! I was moved to tears several times. We had the most incredible guides- Matisse- Brandon- Henri. Each hotel was comfortable and the food was as expected but divine. The agenda of the tour was wonderful. My sister and I did not know much about Arromanches - and learned so much. Each cemetery was solemn but an honor to visit. The Bavarian Alps were breathtaking and visiting Eagles Nest was unsurpassed. I will forever remember this trip. I took the trip in memory of my husband as we always planned to go. Thank you for everything! I hope this company, Beaches of Normandy, will prosper and continue to grow! Respectfully, Dee

The hotels at each location were very nice with seamless check in and many local attractions around.
